Duo Charged With Thefts from Parking Lot

The pair were arrested on April 13 after thefts from cars.

Two people have been charged with multiple felonies after being arrested for breaking into cars at , according to a statement released by the .

Gualberto Morales Barbosa, 38, and Wandalee Figueroa, 35, both of Detroit, were arrested on April 13 on suspicion of breaking into parked vehicles at Lifetime Fitness, 1700 N Haggerty Rd., and allegedly stealing personal property including bank cards which were used to make purchases at a local retailer.

Barbosa and Figueroa were arraigned Saturday and charged with breaking and entering a vehicle; larceny from a vehicle; and identity theft. All charges are felonies and if convicted each carries a punishment of up to 5 years. The duo was also charged with several financial transaction felonies, which are punishable with up to four years in prison each.

Bond was set at $10,000 apiece for Barbosa and Figueroa and they both are scheduled for preliminary exams on April 29 at 35th District Court in Plymouth.
