The Oakland County Board of Commissioners Public Services Committee filed a report on gun violence in Oakland County stating that strides have been made in combating gun violence in local communities. The document shared with Patch states that the U.S Attorney’s Office is making strides to protect at-risk residents from criminal life.

The report includes input from experts from various levels of law enforcement, as well as mental health experts and gun owners.

Project CeaseFire has contributed greatly to the success of the decrease in gun violence. According to the report, youth have been more involved within the community because they don’t want to be associated with crime.
