Canton Township police and firefighters are on the scene of a gas main break near the U.S. Post Office, on Canton Center Road, north of Cherry Hill Road.
The break occurred earlier today, when telephone utility company workers struck the main while digging in the area. Contractors on the scene said the problem should be resolved by about 5 p.m.
Traffic near the area is heavy.
