Head-on Collision Causes Serious Injuries in Canton

One driver was airlifted to the hospital by survival flight while the other was transported by Canton EMS, police said.

Monday morning around 10:37 a.m., Canton Police and Fire Department responded to an injury accident on Ford Road, west of Ridge Road, according to a news release.

The drivers of two vehicles involved in the crash appeared injured but conscious. Survival flight was requested to airlift one of the injured drivers to the hospital. The second driver was transported to the hospital by Canton EMS for treatment of injuries. 

Initial reports from witnesses indicated the vehicle heading eastbound on Ford Road appeared to cross over the center lane and struck the westbound vehicle head on, police said. 

The accident remains under investigation by Canton Police Department’s accident investigation team
