"Some people ran out of their apartments without socks on," Aren said. "But even beyond that, think of all the little necessities they've lost. What about glasses they left behind, or prescriptions they won't be able to salvage?"

She said apartment residents have been instructed to keep a running list of everything they need throughout the day.

"We told them to write things down as they think of them, even if it doesn't make sense now," Aren said. "But sooner rather than later, they're going to need a toothbrush, a frying pan – all those little necessities."

When that list is available, Aren said it will be made public.
