Infant's Condition Improves as Abuse Case Moves Forward

Father in abuse case could face up to 15 years in prison.

Six-month-old Hunter Sewejkis has shown substantial improvement two months after his father, Anthony Lawrence Sewejkis, allegedly slammed Hunter's head against a carpet-covered hardwood floor of their Canton home, the Canton Observer is reporting.

Hunter Sewejkis continues to be treated at the University of Michigan Mott Children's hospital, where he has been able to move both sides of his body, see out of one eye and hear out of both ears, his grandfather, Sal Alongi, told the Observer.

According to the report, doctors this week are expected to conduct more tests to determine if Hunter is improving from severe brain damage, from which he initially wasn't expected to survive.
