Man Arrested on Shoplifting Charges at Walmart on Ford Road

The following information has been provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

While conducting a follow-up investigation for a separate case at Walmart, 39500 Ford Road, Canton Township Police were notified a man in the store was observed concealing a Net 10 cellular phone after  removing the phone from its packaging, according to a police report.

The store’s loss prevention officer stopped the man when he tried leaving the store without paying for the phone, the report said, after the man admitted taking the phone.

The phone is valued at $29.88, the report said.

Police arrested the man and cited him on charges of third-degree retail fraud.
