Man Reports Car Break-In After Being Arrested in Canton
The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Canton Township Police met with a man Sept. 21 who told police someone had entered his vehicle while it was parked on the shoulder of westbound Michigan Avenue near Sheldon Road overnight and stole the stereo from his vehicle dashboard and a portable DVD player, according to a police report.
According to the report, the vehicle was parked in its location because the vehicle owner had previously been arrested.
The man told police the vehicle sustained damage along the plastic molding around the stereo deck and the DVD player was taken from the front passenger seat, the report said.

Police have no suspects.
Sign damaged in apparent hit-and-run accident
Canton Township Police responded Sept. 19 to the 7800 block of Hamlet Court for a report of an unknown vehicle striking a sign, according to a police report.

According to the report, a “No Parking, Fire Lane” sign was damaged and removed from the ground and the lawn surrounding the sign was damaged by two large ruts.
Police recovered three pieces of vehicle debris from near the scene, the report said.
Police have no suspects.
