More Than 100 Gallons of Gas Syphoned from Semi Truck

Police said the man stealing the gas sped off when another car pulled into the lot.

On Aug. 31, A man reported to police that he interrupted an unknown person syphoning gas from a semi truck on Eckles Road, according to a Plymouth Township Police report. 

The call came in a little before 3 a.m.

The man told police he drove into the trailer lot located south of Eckles Road and saw a man syphoning gas. He watched the man get into a red Ford pickup truck and speed off, the report said.

The man told police that he saw the man with approximately three to four 40-gallon white gasoline drums in the bed of his truck, the report said. 

Police discovered the gas cap still removed on the semi truck, the report said. 

Stolen car found still running

On Sept. 6, a woman on Amherst Court reported that a red Chrysler Town & Country minivan was parked and running in the front of her home, according to a police report. 

Police found the car running and unoccupied, with the ignition switch removed from the steering column, the report said. 

Police discovered the the car had been reported stolen to the Michigan State Police Brighton Post at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 6. 

The woman told police that the car was not there at 2 a.m., and she noticed it at 6:30 a.m., the report said.
