Man, woman suspected in thefts from Canton Township, Southfield retailers.

Canton police are seeking identifications of two suspects in connection with a retail fraud, according to a report by the Canton Observer. The suspects, according to the report, are a male who is about 50 years old and female who is about 40 years old. The two suspects are suspected in a theft from a local retailer and another possible theft in Southfield, according to the report. Westland resident's cellphone video shows driver walking away from fatal crash

Video shot by Westland resident Kenyatta Smith that shows the driver of a fatal Oct. 26, 2010 crash in Ypsilanti Township that killed Canton Township resident Stephanie Joyce Stone walking away from the scene is featured in a story this week on AnnArbor.com.

The driver in the video, according to the report, is Bradley Howard, 35, of Ypsilanti Township. Last month, Howard was sentenced to a term between 22.5 years and 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to various charges, including second-degree murder, the report said. Women arrested for passing counterfeit bills

Livonia police arrested two women who attempted to buy about $2,000 in items with counterfeit $50 bills at a Target store Tuesday, according to a report by the Livonia Observer. According to the report, police were notified by loss prevention officers at the store at 29451 Plymouth Road after observing the women making several purchases with the phony bills and trying to return the items for cash. Walmart to open in Novi

A new Walmart is expected to open in Novi Town Center by September, according to an article in the Detroit Free Press. Construction began on the 150,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter this summer. In June, about their hopes that the new Walmart will help boost the economy in . Novi City Manager Clay Pearson said the megastore should breathe new life into a “difficult retail environment” by moving onto the site.
