Plymouth Township Couple Fall Victim to Scammers

Police are seeking help identifying a suspect.

Plymouth Township Police are seeking help identifying a man suspected of scamming a township couple out of thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry. 

Police said that the man in the sketch approached the homeowners while they were outside working in their garage, took them into the backyard and kept them occupied for about 15 minutes while his partner or partners went inside and ransacked the house. 

The couple told police that the man said he was from the homeowners association and was going to be working in the backyard. 

Police said that the scammers took about $25,000 in cash and a bunch of jewelry from the home.

Police also said that this was the first such incident in the township.
