Police Find Stolen Clothes from Walmart, Marijuana in Canton Woman's Purse, Report Says

Canton Township police arrested a Canton woman June 30 on charges of stealing from Walmart and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.

When the responding officer arrived at Walmart and met with the woman who was in custody of loss prevention employees, the officer immediately smelled marijuana, the report said. The woman said she did not have marijuana but had smoked it earlier, according to the report.  

A loss prevention officer saw the woman hide women’s clothing in her purse and leave the store without paying for it, the report said. The total value of the clothes was $55.64, according to the report.

The woman admitted to having marijuana in her purse along with syringes and a broken “bowl,” the report said. The officer arrested her and took her to the Canton Township police department, according to the report.

The officer found in the woman’s purse a green leafy substance, three used and capped syringes, a purple plastic grinder and two glass pipes, the report said. The substance tested positive for marijuana, according to the report.
