Police Blotter: Teens Charged with Marijuana Possession

Police say they found drugs and marijuana paraphernalia during a routine traffic stop.

Two local teens were arrested and charged with marijuana possession early Sunday morning, according to Plymouth Township police.

According to the police report: The 16-year-old driver of a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer was going west on Ann Arbor Road near Main Street around midnight when he was stopped by a patrolling officer for not having working brake lights.

There were four other male passengers in the car, including another 16-year-old and three 15-year-olds.

Upon approaching the open car window, the officer indicated in the report that he could smell a very strong odor of marijuana and asked the other passengers for identification and for the driver to exit the car.

After searching the car, the officer reported that he found a 2-feet-tall glass bong, a red backpack containing 34.5 grams of marijuana, a glass marijuana pipe, a blue and black backpack containing 19.7 grams of marijuana, multiple grinders and rolling papers and another glass bong.

The driver and one of the 15-year-old passengers were arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Diesel fuel stolen from delivery trucks

According to a Plymouth Township police report, approximately 220 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen from delivery trucks at a business on Port Street on March 6.

The person who filed the report said it was the third time he had reported gas theft since last year and the third or fourth time it had happened.

Purse stolen from daycare center

A 35-year-old woman called Plymouth Township police March 10 to report a purse stolen from her car while dropping off her child at a daycare facility on Helm Street.

According to the police report, the driver's side window of the woman's 2004 Toyota Sienna was smashed in when the officer arrived.
