Police Blotter: Vehicle Larcenies, Malicious Destruction of Property

The following arrest information was supplied by the Plymouth Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday

Rear Jeep window broken out

Police responded at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday to Heritage Drive in Plymouth Township to a report of a window broken out of a black Jeep.

According to a police report, officers met with the victim, who was taping up the back window of his vehicle after the incident.

He told police that between 7 and 8 p.m., an unknown person broke out the window of the vehicle, which was parked in the driveway. During that time, he told police, he noticed two people on bikes passing behind the Jeep but did not pay attention to them. Police have no suspects.

Theft of copper piping

At 2:44 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to Plymouth Oaks Boulevard in response to a theft of copper piping from a building.

According to the police report, officers met with the person on-site, who said that between 8 a.m. on May 24 and 3 p.m. on May 27, unknown suspects stole the copper backflow valves from the south side of the building. Police have no suspects.

May 26

Malicious destruction of property

At 11:23 a.m. on May 26, police were dispatched to Rockledge Drive for a report of malicious destruction of property.

The woman who lived there told police she parked her vehicle securely at 2:30 a.m. on May 26. When she returned to her car at 11:30 a.m., she said she noticed the driver's side door had been scratched in several places from the door back to the gas cap. Police have no suspects.

May 25

Briefcase with laptop stolen from arena parking lot

At 8 p.m. on May 25, a Clarkston man called police to report the theft of a black leather briefcase containing a 17-inch black Toshiba laptop computer and a wallet with $200 from his 2011 black GMC Acadia, which was parked at , 14900 N. Beck Rd. The car was unlocked. 

Police have no suspects.

Plastic fender cap stolen

At 2:11 p.m. on May 25, police were dispatched to Plymouth Road after the theft of a plastic passenger fender cap on a 2001 Jeep was reported. The vehicle's owner told police he had parked in a parking lot at about 3 p.m. on May 24 and noticed the piece missing at about 11 a.m. on May 25. Police have no suspects.

Another copper piping theft

At about 11:30 p.m. on May 25, police responded to Pinetree Drive to meet with a property manager of a bank-owned, unoccupied house. The property manager told police someone stole about 40 feet of copper piping, cut in multiple sections, from the basement utility room between noon May 11 and noon May 19. Police reported there were no signs of forced entry.

The cost to repair and replace the piping was estimated at between $500 and $1,000. Police have no suspects.
