Strange Man Follows Discovery Middle School Student While Walking to School

Police said the man crossed the street a couple times to follow behind the girl as she walked to school.

A Discovery Middle School student reported that a strange man chased her during her walk to school the morning of Nov. 21, according to a police report. 

The girl and her two sisters were walking to school when she stopped to tie her shoelace while the other two continued walking, the report said.

The girl told police that she was walking eastbound on the north side of Indian Creek Drive when she saw a man standing across the street on the sidewalk. The girl said the man crossed to the north side of the street and started walking behind her about 10-yards, the report said.

The girl crossed Indian Creek and began walking on the west side of Norwood, but the man crossed and continued following her. The girl told police that she began yelling to run, yelling for her two sisters, the report said. 

The man started to run and turned eastbound on Fox Woods, according to the report.

The girl said that she caught up with her sisters and they all ran to school and told a teacher what had happened, the report said.

Police checked the area, but did not find the man, who is described as being about 5'10" with dark hair and wearing a black coat.

School officials notified the girls' parents of the incident, according to the report.
