Minivan Crashes Through Canton Biggby Entrance

in Canton, 45430 Ford Road, was reopened for business Friday afternoon after a minivan drove through the entrance earlier in the day.

A woman driving a blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan drove forward through the entrance of the coffee shop at about 8:30 Friday morning, according to Emily Jamison, a barista who said she was not working when the incident occurred, but was aware of the circumstances of the accident. 

This was the second such accident this summer at the plaza, which is located at Canton Center and Ford roads in Canton. On June 21, a the front entrance of . Neehee's in late August after several months of reconstruction.

While customers were inside the business at the time of the accident, Jamison said no injuries were reported.

"They were just a little shaken up," she said.

The accident closed the business down for several hours until crews constructed a temporary front entrance, Jamison said. She said the store reopened at about 2 p.m.

The business also sustained some minor damage along the rear wall from the coffee bar making impact when it was struck by the vehicle. Otherwise, the interior largely was unaffected by the accident. 

The identity of the driver of the minivan was not provided by Biggby on Friday, but Jamison described the woman as a regular customer.

"We like her," Jamison said. "We're not mad at her or anything."
