Canton Township Police were dispatched Aug. 14 to the , 40500 Michigan Ave., for a report of a vehicle theft, according to a police report.

At the motel, a man told police his company’s Ford F-350 truck, owned by Environmental Wood Solutions, had been stolen. The man told police he had parked his car the previous night and when he walked out at 5:50 a.m., the truck was missing. He told police the truck had a large toolbox covering the entire truck bed, the report said, containing “thousands of dollars” in tools. The man told police he would obtain serial numbers from his tools so officers can enter the information into police computer systems.

In the parking spot adjacent to where the work truck had been parked, police observed a black Ford Excursion with a punched-out lock and door left ajar, the report said.
