UPDATE: Suspected Shooter Arrested by Washtenaw County Sherriff's Office

Three were injured in a shooting at the Elks Frontier Lodge in Ypsilanti Township at 2 a.m. Saturday.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office has announced that it has located and arrested 25-year-old Leon Freeman, who is a suspect in a shooting that injured three people early Saturday morning.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Derrick Jackson said the shooting happened at 2 a.m. at the Elks Frontier Lodge, 1405 Ecorse Rd., in Ypsilanti Township.

As police arrived on the scene, they were alerted that three people had arrived at St. Joseph Hospital's emergency room with gunshot wounds, Jackson said. Their wounds did not appear life threatening, according to Jackson.

Jackson added that initial reports indicated Freeman and another man, a 48-year-old also in police custody, were apparently shooting at one another. Three male bystanders were injured in the crossfire. Jackson said the men were using handguns but specific details were not yet available.

"Detectives are still trying to piece together the details of what caused the shooting," Jackson said.

Anyone with information about the Saturday morning incident is asked to call the Washtenaw County Sheriff's office confidential tip line, 734-973-7711 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP. Crime Stoppers offers rewards up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of crime suspects.
