Windows Broken in Plymouth Township Home Under Construction

Police said the people entered through an unlocked doorwall in the basement of the home.

A Plymouth Township home currently under construction suffered damage when unknown people gained access sometime between 4:30 p.m. on July 9 and 9 a.m. on July 10, according to a police report.

The site supervisor and builder told police that the people accessed the home through an unlocked doorwall in the basement, the report said. 

Two windows were broken, drywall adhesive was thrown onto the walls and buckets of water were tipped over on the second floor. The spilled water saturated the floor and leaked through the drywall of the first floor ceiling, according to the report.

The damage to the windows cost $200 each and the supervisor did not have an estimate for the other damage that was caused, the report said.

A Plymouth Township man reported that someone attempted to break into his home on Meadow Court through the attached garage on July 10, according to a police report. 

The door jam to the entry door of the attached garage was damaged. Police said it appeared the the person used a prying device to get past the knob lock, but was unsuccessful with deadbolt, the report said.

The man told police that the entry door was closed and deadbolt was locked when he discovered the damage, the report said.
