Woman Reports Credit Card Fraud in Plymouth Township

No money reported missing in fraud case.

Plymouth Township Police met March 19 at the station with a woman reporting credit card fraud, according to a police report.

The woman told police she was contacted by her credit card company reporting  her information had been compromised.

The woman told police she was advised that a man had called the bank and said he was going on vacation to the United Kingdom and wanted the card activated for overseas purchases and made four separate transactions for $0 to ensure the account was active, the report indicated.

According to the report, one of the transactions was for $0 out of Washington.

The woman told police the bank closed the account and issued the woman a new card and advised her to run her credit report.  The report was filed so the bank could take further action with its fraud department.
