Canton officials hope a new website can motivate Ford Road commuters to help secure $18 million in federal funds to reshape the thoroughfare, the Canton Observer is reporting.
The website, www.tiger4canton.com, helps visitors find ways to contact federal and state officials who might be willing to help, the report said.
After three rejections, Canton offiicials hope a fourth effort, TIGER — or Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery — can fix the accident-prone roadway.
According to the report, the site charts 2,378 crashes that occurred during the last six years along Ford Road from Canton Center to east of Interstate 275.
