Ice cream social, Canton Township trustees meet and one animal rescue effort gets social.

1. Ice cream social

is scheduled at the historic Cherry Hill School, 555 N. Ridge Rd., from 6 to 8 tonight, courtesy of Canton Leisure Services Department. For $1 per serving, you can garnish your ice cream from a toppings bar. On the school's poach: Music by the Canton Concert Band. No registration, but supplies are limited.

2. Canton Township Trustees Meet

trustees are scheduled to meet at 7 tonight at the township's administration building, 1150 S. Canton Center Rd. The board will consider final site plans for two condominium developments, Columbia Square and Hamptons Estates as well as Sidiqui Orthodontics (former side of the Amann Law Office on South Canton Center Road, near Saltz); spending $17,500 for an electronic firewall after the township's website suffered a series of denial-of-service attacks in June, according to a township report; and consider leasing fitness equipment for Summit on the Park. Three Canton gas stations are selling fuel for $3.66 per gallon: Speedway, . at North Canton Center Road and . at Ford Road; and , 41350 Ford Rd. at Haggerty Road.
