You may recall about Clay Nissan and his 2004 diagnosis of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) – a rare hereditary blood vessel disorder that affects the brain, lungs and other vital organs. His mom died from the disease. One of the Nissans three children, Sydney, also has HHT.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, you can help raise money for HHT research by joining the summer celebration at , where families can enjoy games, performances and even a Canton Fire Department demonstration.

2. Help the 785th MP Army Unit

Today, volunteers with the VFW Mayflower Lt. Gamble Post 6695 Ladies Auxiliary will be packing boxes starting at 2 p.m. to send to the U.S. Army's Michigan-based 785th Military Police Battalion, on duty in Afghanistan. Donations can be dropped off at that time. Items needed: DVD movies, books, batteries and toiletries. The full list is here. 3. Camp Rock!

Today you can see two performances of Forever After Productions'  performances at 2 and 7 p.m. at Village Theater at Cherry Hill, 50400 Cherry Hill Rd. Tickets cost $15.

4. Plan Ahead: Farmers Market

Saxophonist Tola Lewis debuts on the Bartlett-Travis porch during the , 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Preservation Park, on North Ridge Road near Cherry Hill Road. Chef Paul Penney, a frequent market demonstrator, noted on the Canton Farmers Market Facebook page that Tola is "a fantastic musician."
