Hazardous Weather Possible in Southeast Michigan

Outdoor City Commission meeting still will take place at Lions Park, weather-permitting.

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect this evening for parts of Wayne, Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Lenawee and Monroe counties, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance thunderstorms could hit southeast Michigan, the report said. The National Weather Service indicated it does not expect the storms to be severe except near the Ohio border where there is a slight risk of severe storms capable of producing large hail and wind gusts up to 60 mph. 

The service said the storm motion will be eastbound at 20 mph. It also indicated a slow-moving low pressure system could create additional storms through Wednesday.

A representative at said today they did not expect tonight's outdoor City Commission meeting at to be moved indoors. In the event weather does prevent the meeting from taking place outdoors, it will be moved indoors to City Hall.
