Offer Made for New Plymouth Library Director

The Library Board of Trustees spent all day Saturday interviewing four finalists for the position.

After hours and hours of interviewing over the weekend, the Plymouth District Library Board of Trustees decided to offer the position of library director to Carol Souchock.

Souchock is the current director of the Adrian Public Library and has served in that position since 2006.

The search has been a new and difficult process, Board of Trustees President Mike Pappas said. Current Library Director Pat Thomas has been the only director the library has known for the past 34 years.

"We interviewed the four, she came across as the strongest," Pappas said. "We had index cards on our desk, so I said hey, mark your (favorite candidate) one, two, three, four. And it was almost unanimous. It was a very quick decision to make. I think they were all qualified. I just think she came across best in the interview."

Pappas declined to comment on the salary until he hears from Souchock on whether she will accept the offer.
