Plymouth City Commission Extends Old Village Outdoor Cafe Hours

City Commissioners voted last week to amend the hours in the city's outdoor dining policy.

Old Village cafes like Hermann's Olde Time Grille will be operating a little bit longer this spring and summer thanks to a recent change in Plymouth's Outdoor Dining Policy

At the request of the Old Village Association, City Commissioners voted to amend the city's policy to extend Old Village cafe operating hours to match those of downtown Plymouth, effective immediately.

Cafes are permitted to operate from April 1 through Nov. 1 during normal hours of operation. However, Old Village outdoor cafes had to close at 10 p.m. while cafes in the downtown district were able to serve until 11:30 p.m. Sundays through Wednesdays and 12 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, according to City Manager Paul Sincock.

"The history was that the more restrictive outdoor cafe policy time limits were put into effect as a result of noise and other complaints regarding a previous owner of what is now known as Hermann's Olde Time Grill," Sincock said. "It's not a reflection on the current owner of the establishment. There have been no such complaints."
