Saturday Political Forum Features Federal, State, County Candidates

Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Vote - Michigan is sponsoring the event.

Interested voters can meet and question candidates running for a number of positions at a Saturday political forum sponsored by Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Vote - Michigan.

APIA Vote - Michigan is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes and provides civic participation, advocacy and education in the Asian Pacific Islander American community.

The forum is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Canton Public Library, 1200 South Canton Center Road.

Invited candidates include those running for U.S. Senate, the 11th U.S. Congressional district, the 20th and 21st Michigan House districts, State Board of Education and Michigan Supreme Court Justice. Those running for Wayne County Prosecutor, Sheriff, Clerk, Treasurer, Register of Deeds and County Commissioner also were invited, as were those vying for Canton Township Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer.

Attendees also can learn about the statewide ballot proposals.
