Dave Kwiatkowksi, the Exeter, NH hospital worker from Canton charged with infecting 32 patients there with hepatitis C, was indicted this week on federal drug charges this week, according to the Associated Press.
Kwiatkowski was charged with seven counts of tampering with a consumer product and seven counts of stealing drugs. Prosecutors say Kwiatkowski spread his hepatitis C to patients by injecting himself with their medication to get high. He would then replace syringes with a saline solution to make it appear as if they were never touched, prosecutors said.
An indictment means a grand jury has determined a trial is warranted based on evidence in the case.
Kwiatkowski, who's currently sitting in jail, is also accused of infecting several other patients at hospitals across the country. He worked as a "traveler," a medical tecnhician who was placed at more than a dozen hospitals across the country by staffing agencies.
