Sheldon Road Reconstruction Causes Closure

Starting today, the Webster Road entrance to the Mayfair Village subdivision, on the east side of Sheldon Road, will be closed. Webster Road itself will remain accessible from inside the subdivision.

Township officials expect the closure to last several weeks as crews continue working the Sheldon Center Road reconstruction project.

This large-scale project may take up to two years to complete. Elements of the project include:

• Widening Canton Center Road to five lanes from Warren Road to where Canton Center Road splits and turns to the northwest.
• Reconstructing and widening Sheldon Center Road to five lanes from Canton Center Road to Joy Road.
• Reconstructing the Sheldon Road connector to three lanes from Sheldon Road to Sheldon Center Road.

As with any road construction project, drivers are asked to move with caution through construction areas, for the safety of workers. Be alert to posted detours.
