Today's Heat Forces Cancellation of Leisure Services Playground Program

Canton Township's playground program has been canceled today, according to a Canton Leisure Services statement. Because of the National Weather Service's excessive heat warning, the playground program has been cancelled for today. Indoor activities at will operate as usual.

Splash pads at and Parks will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to township officials.

Summit on the Park is open from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. but is also operating as the township's cooling center, with services from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Sign in at the front desk for cooling center services.

The is open until 9 p.m. and is air conditioned.
