Update: 2,173 Voters Turn Out in Plymouth Township; 3,574 in Canton

Voters gradually make way to polls today in local primaries.

After a , voters in Plymouth and Canton townships are making their way to the polls today to cast their ballots in local, county and state primary races with a little more than three hours left to vote. 

Plymouth Township Deputy Clerk Eric Bacyinski reports 2,173 voters have cast their ballots today as of 4:30 p.m. These votes are in addition to 3,563 absentee ballots already received by the township.

Bacyinski said there are approximately 22,156 registered voters in the township.

In Canton, the clerk's office reports 3,574 ballots cast today by 4:30 p.m. in addition to 5,325 returned absentee ballots out of 62,108 registered voters in the township.

Polls close today at 8 p.m.
