Visions for Vacancies: What Should Move Into ACH Plant Space?

Ford announced the sale of ACH's operations, leaving a large anticipated vacancy in Plymouth Township. What are your visions for this lot?

Ford Motor Company and Automotive Components Holdings, LLC (ACH) announced Monday the sale of the last remaining ACH operation – the climate control business currently located at the ACH plant, 14425 Sheldon Road in Plymouth Township.

Between the ACH plant and its parking lot, often used for shuttle service parking for Plymouth festivals, the entire operation encompasses a sizable chunk of Plymouth Township land that will eventually be sold.

What would you like to see in this spot?

Another factory? Retail? Housing? Tell us your suggestions in the comments below.

If you know of any other buildings that would make a good candidate for a future Visions for Vacancies feature, let us know in the comments.

Don't start planning to quickly. The clean-up at this site is going to be a cause for huge delays. No long term auto supplier site, leaves without some sort of necessary remediation work to the site. Be prepared for a Brownfield site before anything useful can happen here. But when it is done, I can see a huge retail, multi-family complex because of the easy M-14 access.

Yep - we're definitely thinking years down the road. Cleanup will definitely take a while on the site before it's used for anything but another plant.
