'American Idol' Finalist Matt Giraud Meets PCEP Students

Season 8 American Idol finalist Matt Giraud shared his musical journey Wednesday with Plymouth-Canton Educational Park students at Salem High School.
Giraud, who grew up nearby in Ypsilanti, appeared in three sessions with the Park's choir, band and orchestra students. He performed both original compositions and covers of hits such as Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and a medley of classic Disney songs and answered questions from the students.
Giraud, who finished fifth place on American Idol behind such superstars as Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, will return the Salem High School auditorium on Feb. 13, 2013, with the PCEP choirs. Ticket information is forthcoming.
