Canton High School Ranked in Top 1,000 in the Country

Canton, ranked at 932, is the only P-CEP school to make list of nation's top 1,000 high schools.

is ranked as the 932nd best high school in the country, according to a a list of the top 1,000 schools in the nation released by Newsweek yesterday.

Newsweek calculated the best schools using six criteria. Here's how the total score breaks down:

  • 25 percent: Four-year graduation rate
  • 25 percent: College acceptance rate
  • 25 percent: Number of AP and other high-level exams given per student
  • 10 percent: Average SAT/ACT scores
  • 10 percent: AP/college-level test scores
  • 5 percent: Number of AP courses offered per student

Canton, the only Plymouth-Canton Educational Park school to make the list, was given a score of 0.12 with the following criteria.

The number of AP courses offered per student was not presented on the Newsweek article.
