Censorship & Intellectual Freedom

Guest Speaker: Dr. Harry Eiss, Professor of English

In recognition of Banned Books Week, Dr. Eiss will talk about the importance of intellectual freedom and fighting censorship.  Sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Banned Books Week, an annual American Library Association event, celebrates intellectual freedom, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and our ability to freely choose what to read.  Highlighting books that have been challenged or banned focuses our attention on the importance of free and open access to information.
