Plymouth-Canton Board of Education Retains John Barrett as President

School board names officers for 2013.

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education will retain John Barrett as its president after a Tuesday board vote.

Barrett, a former Plymouth City Commissioner, was elected to the board in November 2011 and was promptly appointed president when his term began in January 2012. He will maintain the title in 2013.

Judy Mardigian, who had served as board secretary in 2012, was appointed vice president.

Adrienne Davis, who had served as vice president in 2012, will serve as secretary in 2013. 

Sheila Paton, who joined Barrett on the board in 2012, was appointed board treasurer, a role previously occupied by current board member Barry Simescu.

Each vote by the board was unanimous, and the officer titles will remain in effect through Dec. 31, 2013.
