Plymouth-Canton Looks to Fill Vacant Board Seat

Board looks to fill vacancy left by Barry Simescu's resignation.

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education is seeking community members interested in filling a recently vacated Board position, according to a posting on the district website.

The chosen candidate will begin serving in February and will remain on the Board until the completion of his or her term in November 2014, the posting indicated.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a letter of interest to Board President John Barrett by 4 p.m. on Jan. 22. Letters should be delivered to the E.J. McClendon Educational Center, 454 S. Harvey Street, Plymouth, MI 48170, or by e-mail at john.barrett@pccsmail.net.

The vacancy was created when Barry Simescu announced his resignation. He has served the District since 2004. Interviews will take place on Feb. 4.
