Plymouth-Canton Offers Public Forum Tonight on Superintendent Search

All residents in district invited to forum to help district hire its next superintendent.

All Plymouth-Canton Community Schools residents are invited to take part in a public forum tonight to help the district hire its next superintendent, according to a notice published on the district website.

The forum will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight at Canton Public Library.

Last month, the Board of Education hired Ray and Associates, an executive search firm, to help the board identify a new superintendent.

Officials from the search firm will ask residents questions in an effort to identify characteristics the community would like in the next superintendent. Ray and Associates also will be conducting individual stakeholder meetings on Nov. 13.

Based on the information collected, the search firm will report its findings at a Special Board Meeting on Nov. 19.

Superintendent Jeremy Hughes currently fills the role as superintendent on an interim basis for the district and has said he is not interested in keeping the job after his contract expires in June 2013.
