Sights and Sounds From Friday's Plymouth Homecoming Game

Energy was high at Plymouth-Canton rivalry game Friday.

Fans poured into the varsity field at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park on Friday to witness an between Plymouth and Canton, where Plymouth came out ahead.

The game marked Plymouth's homecoming and school spirit was running high. Players burst through the tunnel during the pre-game to the hardcore punk band Refused's song "New Noise," and the crowd noise sustained at deafening volumes throughout the game from both the Plymouth and Canton sides of the field.

The crowd had several hours to get energized for the game, as the campus had a tailgating party before the game, where students danced to a DJ and took part in activities such as tug-of-war and a hot dog-eating contest.

At halftime, various cheer and dance squads from the campus entertained fans before the Plymouth-Canton Marching Band took the field for its halftime show.

The Homecoming court then lined up on the track alongside the field where Jake Fowler was crowned king and Katie Bartek queen.

Afterwards, Fowler said he wasn't expecting to be picked.

"It's really awesome to actually win king," he said.

Bartek said she was "happy and honored" to win queen.
