Snow Day: Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Cancels Classes Today

A winter storm dumped about four inches of snow overnight, and more is expected Friday morning.

Wintry weather resulted in the second "snow day" of the year for Plymouth-Canton Community Schools.

More than 400 metro Detroit schools have cancelled classes Friday, as snow-covered roads led to treacherous driving conditions, according to various news reports. 

Other closings announced Friday morning include New Horizons, Plymouth Christian Academy, St. Michael Lutheran, Canton Charter Academy, Achieve Charter Academy, Schoolhouse Montessori, South Canton Scholars Academy and Plymouth Scholars Charter Academy.

The wintry mix began in Plymouth Thursday evening with rain and wind. Today's forecast calls for more snow and a high around 30 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
