WXCD-FM's Dr. Don Promotes Reading to Achieve Charter Students

Radio personality speaks to students at Achieve Charter Academy in Canton.

Dr. Don, a radio personality at WXCD-FM, 99.5, promoted reading during a session Thursday morning with students in Canton.

The radio host spent about a half hour educating the second-graders on the importance of reading and read the children a book.

The children enjoyed having Dr. Don read with the energetic and enthusiastic spin he put on the story to keep the students engaged.

Dr. Don was welcomed by principal Claudia Williamson and the school's three second-graders, Mrs. Fritz, Ms. Long and Ms. Fusion. The radio personality received a green Achieve Charter Academy polo shirt. The principal and teachers sported hot-pink t-shirts that read "Achieve Charter Academy Loves 99.5 FM WXCD and Dr. Don."

The host told the school he would be happy to come back again to speak in the near future. Dr. Don also plans to speak with sixth-graders at Achieve about the important of public speaking.
