Canton Beats Plymouth for District Title in Basketball

The Chiefs now move on to the regional tournament.

Canton High School beat hometown rival Plymouth High School Friday night to take home the Class A boys basketball district title.

The Chiefs won 47-32, according to the MHSAA website.

Canton defeated Novi, 49-24, and Salem, 57-49, to advance to the district finals. Plymouth beat Detroit Catholic Central, 36-26, and Northville, 48-37, to advance.

Canton now moves on to the regional tournament, where the team will first play Ypsilanti. The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at Ann Arbor Huron.
