Canton Boys Soccer Team Heads to State Finals

Chiefs' Griffin Parks scores game's lone goal for shutout win over Warren DeLaSalle.

The wins continue for Canton Chiefs. The Canton High boys soccer team beat Warren De La Salle 1-0 in a state semifinal at Farmington High Wednesday night.

Sophomore Griffin Parks scored the lone goal, with an assist from sophomore Ken Krolicki. Senior goalkeeper Steven Murphy picked up the shutout while handing DeLaSalle its first loss of the season.

ESPN's Fab 50 Poll had ranked De La Salle (14-1 overall) No. 15 in the country and Canton (23-1-2 overall) No. 20.

The Chiefs now face Grand Haven (18-1-3 overall) for the Division 1 State Championship scheduled for Saturday, but time and place of the final game won't be announced until sometime Thursday.
