Canton Competes at Regional Cheer Meet

Canton's cheer team place 9th out of 12 teams.

The cheer team from Canton High School shouted, jumped, tumbled and flipped for judges Saturday morning as they competed in the regional cheer meet in Lake Orion. They finished 9th out of 12 teams. The top four teams advance to the state finals in Grand Rapids next weekend.

Home team Lake Orion won the meet, displacing reigning state champions, Rochester's Stoney Creek High School. Southgate Anderson and Sterling Heights Stevenson finished third and fourth.
