Football: Salem Falls to Walled Lake Central; Plymouth and Canton Notch Road Wins

Rocks can't stop Vikings' rushing attack.

Coming off an against Ann Arbor Huron in Week One, Rocks football carried some momentum into Varsity Stadium at the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park on Thursday.

Salem kept up with powerhouse Walled Lake Central for the first half despite a weak first quarter in which they were held to just 21 yards and no points. Rocks eventually closed the second quarter with a 14-13 lead over the Vikings.

After the half, however, Central's rushing game proved too much for Rocks as the Vikings' K.J. Schultz rushed for 233 yards and gained 400 total in all-purpose yards. Rocks had trouble stopping the air attack, too, allowing Central quarterback Zac Leimbach to connect on three second-half touchdowns.
