The Plymouth-Canton Educational Park has eight competitors at the MHSAA individual state finals at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The tournament began Thursday morning and lasts through Saturday afternoon.
Here are the results for Thursday: Canton’s Ben Griffin (103 pounds) defeated Caledonia’s John Leark by pin (3:42); Plymouth’s Alec Breckenridge (130) beat Brighton's Chris Brish by decision 5-2; Canton’s Zach Marsh (140) defeated Hudsonville’s Carl Nystrom by decision, 12-7; Canton’s Braden Price (171) lost to Brighton’s Vince Tkac by pin (4:42); Canton’s Anthony Abro (189) defeated Walled Lake Central’s Charles Sovel by decision, 4-2; Canton’s Ben Poirier (285) defeated Portage Central’s Kyle Knapp by decision, 7-3; Plymouth’s Said Youseff (125) lost to Oxford’s Kyle Hill by decision, 8-4; and Salem’s Cody Korpus (119) defeated Utica Stevenson’s John Brown by pin (1:35).
