Plymouth Whalers Trade Iafrate to Kitchener Rangers

Whalers also announce try-out of new free agent.

The Plymouth Whalers have traded 17-year-old defenseman Max Iafrate to the Kitchener Rangers, according to the team's website.

In exchange, the Whalers will get the third-round draft picks in the 2015 and 2016 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. The website also reports that teams will also trade first round picks in the 2012 and 2013 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

General Manager and Head Coach Mike Vellucci also announced "the try-out of free-agent left wing Trent Samuels-Thomas," according to the Whalers' website.
