Plymouth's Kyle Brindza to Play in Offense-Defense All-American Bowl

The stand-out Wildcat kicker will play in the high school football all-star game Dec. 31 in Myrtle Beach.

senior and future Notre Dame kicker has been invited to play in the 2011 Offense-Defense All-American Bowl, which takes place in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Dec. 31.

Brindza, who set several kicking records at the , has played an essential role in Plymouth's successful football season.

The Wildcats (11-3) first featured a varsity squad in 2004 and have not won more than seven games in a season prior to this year, nor have they gotten past the pre-district round of the playoffs.

Brindza's leg helped secure more than one of those victories, but perhaps none more memorable than his 15-yard, game-winning field goal against Detroit Catholic Central with 38 seconds remaining to give the Wildcats the 9-7 lead and the Division 1 regional championship.

The national telecast of the game will be on VERSUS, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. The Offense-Defense All-American Bowl is an annual high school football all-star game that features the best student-athletes from around the country.
