TOUGH WIZ: Whaler fans know that former captain James Wisniewski (Canton) is tough. He talks about re-habbing two serious knee operations in an article written by Dave Stubbs of the National Post in Canada.

GLIB CHRIS TERRY: Another former Whaler captain - Chris Terry - continues to be as well spoken as ever in a video produced by the Charlotte Checkers.

MATT HACKETT PITCHES SHUTOUT IN NHL DEBUT: Matt Hackett's National Hockey League debut was about as perfect as can be.

Hackett (who played with Plymouth from 2006-10) stopped all 34 shots he faced last night in relief of starting goaltender Josh Harding as the first-place Minnesota Wild defeated the San Jose Sharks, 2-1, at HP Pavilion in San Jose.

"It's tough," Hackett told NHL.com. "I mean, that's my first NHL game. I'm still shaking. I was shaking the whole time. Yeah, it's an unbelievable feeling. It's a tough building to play in, but it's a fun one, too."

Here's a compilation of content about Hackett's debut from www.plymouthwhalers.com.

Hackett is the 14th Whalers alum to play in the National Hockey League this season.

COMPUWARE YOUTH PROGRAM REPRESENTED WITH TEAM USA: Congratulations to Compuware Youth alums Austin Levi, Jack Campbell, Austin Czarnik, Jacob Trouba, Jason Zucker and Austin Watson. All received invitations to try out for Team USA for the upcoming 2012 World Junior Tournament.

In addition, one of the Whalers popular Pink Out! jerseys may be for sale. The jerseys will be hanging around section 120. To bid, please go to the Fan Assistance Center on Friday.
