Detroit U.S. Postal Service to Reveal New WWII Collector Stamp and Envelope

In a news release the Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial reports that the USPS in conjunction with the the Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial will unveil a tribute folio honoring WW II medal of honor recipients. The ceremony will take place on December 6 beginning with a children's program at 11 am. Details below from PR newswire release

In addition to the Forever stamps, attendees can also enjoy:

  • A custom WWII Legacy Memorial envelope
  • A custom Pearl Harbor Day pictorial cancellation stamp
  • Simulated "mail call" (raffle) and free giveaways
  • Meet and greet with the architects and artists behind the Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial (completed in 2014)
  • Presentations by Honorable John Pappageorge, Michigan Senate, 13th District; Kevin Tolbert, UAW Administrative Assistant and Executive Director, UAW-Ford; and Lee Thompson, Detroit District Manager, United States Postal Service.
